Chris Broughton is an artist who has spent the last 30 years or so combining teaching, commercial practice and exhibiting.

He is an active member of a group of artists and writers called ‘The New Arcadians’ who publish a yearly journal on a garden/landscape theme. He has considerable commercial experience including designing for exhibitions, television, publishing, the music industry and educational and public institutions.

He was born in London in 1949 and moved to Harrogate in the early fifties. He was educated at Harrogate Grammar School, Harrogate Art School, The London College of Printing and Leeds Polytechnic.

Qualifying as a graphic designer and printmaker he has developed an interest in illustration and continues this work today. He taught for over thirty years at Bradford School of Art.

This website is organised as a series of galleries which trace the progress and development of Chris’s work through the years. Little explanation is needed as the work will largely explain itself.

He hopes that you will enjoy leafing through the pages of his life.
